I heard that someone had interest in purchasing the former Gilbert Furniture Store at 105 West Main Street in downtown Ashland. The catch is that the interested party wanted to level the historic property. I have no primary source to confirm, but with the Salvation Army Building gone, and the Miller Building threatened on AU's campus....I have to believe there is truth in the story!
I thought that Ashland University was interested in Gilberts.
ReplyDeleteIf that is still true, we may need to be more concerned since President Fink's stated in the Times-Gazette, just because a building is historic, doesn't mean it needs to be saved!
ReplyDeleteI love furniture gilbert. It is so darling! They can't sell it! It's too cute to shut down.
ReplyDeleteKeenan Han purchased the building in 2013 and is in the process of renovating for small shops downstairs and apartments upstairs.
